What Are Weight Loss Shakes
Before we get into whether weight loss shakes are a good long term solution to meet your weight loss goals, first we will talk about what exactly weight loss shakes are. Weight loss shakes are simply a meal replacement shake / drink. For example, tomorrow instead of having cereal for breakfast, you would have one of the weight loss shakes. These shakes have all the vitamins and minerals you need to replace your meal. But since you are only having weight loss shakes rather than a big breakfast / lunch, you will actually lose weight.
Weight Loss Goals
Here is what I did in my weight loss journey. My goal was to lose 25 pounds so I started with replacing two of my meals with weight loss shakes – breakfast and lunch. Then when I lost 15 pounds (10 left to lose to reach my goal), I then only replaced one of my meals with weight loss shakes. It took longer for me to lose those last 10 pounds (always seems to be that way), but I did reach my goal of losing 25 pounds and have kept it off for over six months now. These days I continue to have my weight loss shakes for breakfast and have a regular lunch and dinner. I try always not to snack.
In my experience and from what I have read online, I believe that these weight loss shakes are a great long term or even short term strategy to lose weight. I wouldn’t recommend having more than two weight loss shakes per day, make sure you eat at least a healthy dinner each day.
